I built a freelance platform without "prison" rules
The freelance market is huge. But most platforms in it are built as if their main job is not to connect people, but to control every step between them.
I wanted to try a different approach.
What's wrong with existing platforms
If you've ever looked for a freelancer or taken on client work, you know these problems.
- Contacts are locked. If you want to message someone on Telegram, you have to go through the platform, pay, or meet some condition first. As if normal communication is a privilege.
- Both sides get charged. Freelancers lose a percentage of what they earn. Clients pay extra too. The platform makes money on every deal, but the service itself does not get better.
- The ranking is frozen. The same names stay at the top for years. A newcomer cannot break through not because they are worse, but because they arrived later. The system does not let the market refresh itself.
What I built
hireclover.com is a freelance platform where those things work differently.
You can message a freelancer right away, with no project and no extra conditions. You see a profile, you're interested, you write. Clients reach out first, freelancers reply. Once a proposal is accepted, contacts are open.
There is no commission. For anyone. Monetization will come from paid features on top that add real value. You can still work perfectly fine without them.
Escrow and deal protection will be there too, but as an option for people who want it, not as a mandatory rule.
The ranking system is still in development. I want the quality of reviews to matter more than the quantity. I want a newcomer with three excellent projects to be able to stand next to a veteran with a hundred mediocre ones.
Where it is now
This is an MVP. Honestly, there is still a lot to improve. The chat is basic, there is no escrow yet, AI features are planned. But the core already works: projects, proposals, conversations, profiles.
I'm building it from feedback, not from my own guesses. That's why I'm writing this.
