Task

I was approached with the idea of creating a freelance platform specifically for students. They said that existing platforms are complicated and don't understand the specifics of student life. Students want to both order and complete work, but there is no simple tool for doing so. The goal was to create an ecosystem where students could be both customers and contractors.

Solution

I designed a complete mobile ecosystem from scratch. I started with research — how students look for help with their studies, what scares them about freelancing, how they communicate. I created 30+ unique screens: from onboarding to a complex chat system. Special attention was paid to UX — students can create an order or respond to a task in 3 clicks. I created a system of filters by subject, price, and deadline.

Worked on complex scenarios: two-way authentication (customer/contractor), payment system through the app, chats that appear only after payment, rating and review system. Added promo features to boost ads. Created a flexible design system with dark/light themes, multilingual support, and all interface states from loading to errors.

Result

The customer received a product ready for development with detailed specifications. Covered all student freelance scenarios — from finding a contractor to completing a project. The design takes into account the psychology of a young audience and the specifics of the learning process.
